Anand Balaji is a member of the Wharton Class of 2010, majoring in Marketing and Strategic Management. He has nine years of experience in technology development, sales and product management. He spent the summer working as a Product Manager Intern at Microsoft where he was a member of the Windows 7 launch team. Prior to Wharton, Anand was the Product Manager for Evolving Systems, a leading telecommunications software company, where he was part of a core team that helped set up the company’s office in Bangalore, India. Prior Anand holds a BE in Computer Science and Engineering from National Institute of Technology, India where he played varsity tennis.
Gal is currently a second-year MBA Candidate at Wharton, majoring in Marketing. During the summer, Gal interned at IBM Corporate Strategy, working on Cloud Computing market assessment. Prior to Wharton, Gal was a Project Manager at Sun Microsystems Israel Development Center, providing software solutions to mobile device manufacturers and cellular operators worldwide. Previously, Gal served as a Regional IT Operations Manager in the Israel Defense Forces Intelligence Corps. Gal holds a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology.
Sai Gopalan is a member of the Wharton MBA Class of 2010 and is majoring in Entrepreneurship, Finance and Marketing. Prior to Wharton, Sai worked for eight years in Consulting. Most recently he was an Engagement Manager with McKinsey & Company, where he worked with financial institutions across Europe and Asia on topics ranging from Strategy, M&A and Organization redesign to Operations improvement and Business technology. Before McKinsey, he worked with the financial and technology consulting arm of Reuters Asia Pte. Ltd for four years.
Sai holds a B.Eng. degree from the National University of Singapore and passed Level 1 of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program in 2003. He enjoys yoga, travelling, cooking and has most recently started learning Taekwondo.
Ofer is currently a second year MBA student at Wharton . During the summer, he interned at Motorola, Home & Network Mobility in Technology Strategy. Prior to Wharton, he worked for 3 years as a Software Developer and then as a Software Leader in ECI Telecom, a leading supplier of networking infrastructure for carrier and service provider networks worldwide. Ofer is a Captain in the Israeli military and served for four and a half years in various commanding positions. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Telecommunication Systems Engineering from the University of Ben Gurion in Beer-Sheva, Israel. Besides his passion for cutting-edge technologies, Ofer loves tennis, snowboarding, poker, photography, piano playing and traveling around the world.
Dominique Basile is a member of the Wharton MBA Class of 2011 and is majoring in Operations & Information Management and Strategic Management. She is a graduate of General Electric’s Information Management Leadership Development Program and has spent the past 5 years designing and implementing global application development projects including an enterprise portal, customer relationship management system and content management system. At Wharton, she’s a Vice President for the Wharton Interactive Media Initiative, a member of the Technology Advisory Board and active in both the Technology Club and Admissions Committee.
She graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelors degree in Information Sciences and Technology. She enjoys watching football, cooking and working out.
Jacomo Corbo is a Wharton Clayright Scholar and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, in the Operations and Information Management department. His research examines problems related to technological innovation and information economics, from the adoption of new technologies and the management of innovation to structuring R&D joint ventures and the derivation of R&D portfolio investment strategies. His research has been funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the Wharton Mack Center for Technological Innovation, the Wharton Interactive Media Initiative, as well as companies such as GE Finance and Boeing Research & Technology.
Jacomo served as the Chief Race Strategist for the ING Renault F1 Team Ltd. between 2006 and 2008, where he led the design and development of the algorithms and computational platform for the team's real-time race strategic analysis, and helped devise R&D portfolio investment strategies to deal with very high uncertainty and a very competitive landscape. He is a founding Partner of QuantumBlack, a business, design and technology studio that applies visual analytics to help firms derive insight from data, from customer satisfaction information and competitor intelligence data to progress updates on in-house projects.
Jacomo holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science at Harvard University, an S.M. in Applied Mathematics from the Harvard Graduate School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, a B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering from McGill University.
Supriya Gupta is a member of the Wharton MBA Class of 2011 majoring in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurial Management. Prior to joining Wharton, she worked at National Semiconductor as a Product Marketer, where she defined new products for the wireless communications, industrial, and automotive industries. Prior to National Semiconductor, she worked at Northrop Grumman Space Technology as an Electrical Engineering Design Lead for two years.
She holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois. She is also enjoys teaching dance in her spare time.
Bill is currently a second year MBA student at Wharton majoring in environment and risk management. During the summer, he interned at GreenOrder, an energy, environment and sustainability consulting firm, where he helped launch the US Partnership for Renewable Energy Finance (USPREF). At Wharton, he organized a panel on electricity markets at the 2008 Wharton Energy Conference and competed on both the 2008 and 2009 National Energy Finance Case Competition teams.
Bill will join the Boston Consulting Group as a consultant in their Philadelphia Office after graduation. He holds an A.B in History from Princeton University.
Kathleen Bellehumeur (WG'11) is majoring in Business and Public Policy, while also earning a Masters in International Studies through the Lauder Institute. Previously, Kathleen was an investment banker in Toronto where she focused on the energy sector and worked on a variety of merger, acquisition, equity and recapitalization assignments. Kathleen has earned an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business and a BA in English from the University of Western Ontario.
Dan Barak is a first year MBA candidate at the Wharton school majoring in Strategic Management and Finance. Dan served over 7 years in the Israeli Air Force as an F-15I WSO. In addition to flying and leading missions as a formation leader, Dan held a number of leadership position in the Air Force headquarters, working directly with Senior Air Force Leaders. After completing his service Dan joined Simigon, a software company creating Simulation Based Training platforms. As Program Manager in Simigon, Dan led teams in planning and executing software programs. Later, as Marketing Manager, Dan successfully identified and seized new growth opportunities, creating value for Simigon and its partners.
Dan holds a bachelor degree (Summa cum Laude) in Computer Science and Management from Tel Aviv University. In his free time Dan enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading and scuba diving.
Elan Wang is a second year MBA student majoring in Marketing and Strategic Management. She spent the summer as a product marketing intern at Microsoft and will be joining Amazon full-time as a product manager. In addition to her Tech Club duties, Elan is heavily involved in community service and is the recipient of the 2009 Ben Franklin Spirit of Philadelphia Award for her commitment to the Philadelphia and Wharton communities. Prior to Wharton, Elan worked in a diversity of roles, ranging from portfolio management to animal behavior field research. Most recently, she managed membership and communications for Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots, an international youth leadership and service learning program. Elan earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
Chris is a first year Wharton MBA majoring in entrepreneurship. He is currently launching his own social networking startup and is interning at ETF Venture Funds in Philadelphia. Prior to Wharton, Chris spent four years at Apple as a project manager on the team that managed the development process for the 800+ person Mac OS project. In this role he established the planning and tracking process for new versions of the operating system and led cross-functional teams to develop new technologies. Chris graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a B.S. in Computer Science & Engineering. During his free time he enjoys photography and snowboarding.
Shauli Rozen is a 1st year MBA student at Wharton, majoring in Finance and Strategic Management. Shauli served 6 years in the Israeli Defense Force and his last position was a Company Commander in the infantry corps. Following his service, Shauli earned his BSc in Communication Engineering and worked as an Algorithms Engineer at Mobixell Networks where he designed multimedia algorithms and approved a US patent in the field of video compression. In his last position before coming to Wharton, Shauli was in charge of the product strategy for Mobixell’s Mobile Advertising solutions and led the company to its first mobile advertising deal in North America. Shauli is also a certified diving instructor and an enthusiastic snowboarder.
Karen Chung is a member of the Wharton Executive MBA Class of 2011. Karen has ten years of experience in technology development; specifically leading a product development team that delivered software system that automated various communications equipment for naval applications which served both domestic and international navies. She also served as a software systems architect for a smart phone product approved for the NSA Type 1 encrypted data, email and voice communications. She holds Masters of Science degrees in Computer and Information Science and in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, skiing, and photography.
Sergey is a first year MBA student majoring in Strategic Management. Prior to Wharton, he worked in a senior research and development role at Xilinx Inc, a leading semiconductor company. Sergey holds a PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Ohio State University and a BS degree in Physics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. He published 18 scientific papers in leading journals, authored 3 patent applications and spoke at five international conferences, NASA, Naval Research Lab, and National Institutes of Health. At Wharton, Sergey is active in technology, consulting and general management clubs and is a member of Wharton ice hockey team.
Alice Chang is a first-year MBA student at the Wharton School majoring in Strategic Management and Marketing. She has 5 years of experience in digital media, online marketing, and technology. Prior to Wharton, Alice was a Senior Manager at QuinStreet, a leading online marketing company, where she managed daily profit and loss operations for search engine marketing and led the product development of a paid search management software. Alice holds a B.A. in Cognitive Science with a concentration in Computational Modeling from the University of California, Berkeley. She enjoys playing tennis, traveling, watching movies, and shopping online.
Nithya brings in 5 years of experience in technology and product management. Most recently, Nithya was a Product Manager at Random Connexion, a mobile social networking startup based in Singapore, where she led their product design, marketing and launch across Singapore and Malaysia. Before Random Connexion, she worked for three years as a research engineer at the Center for Development of Telematics (CDOT, Bangalore), one of India’s leading telecom R&D institutions, where she designed and developed telecommunication network management solutions.
Nithya holds a B.E. (Hons) degree in Computer Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS, Pilani). She is passionate about Indian classical music and has performed in a number of concerts in India and Singapore. She also enjoys dancing, traveling and photography.
Amaya Capellán is a first year MBA student majoring in Strategic Management and is also pursuing a Masters in International Studies through the Lauder Institute. Prior to coming to Wharton, Amaya led a Closed Loop Marketing group within Draftfcb Healthcare, an advertising agency that catered to pharmaceutical clients. She also lived in Madrid, Spain for 3 years where she worked with a start-up consulting firm that offered web-based and eLearning solutions.
Amaya holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a certificate in Latin American Studies from Princeton University. In her free time she enjoys cooking and exploring the outdoors with her dog.
Casey Carey is a member of the Wharton MBA Class of 2011, majoring in Managing Electronic Commerce. Prior to Wharton, Casey worked for 5 years in retail. Most recently, she was a Buyer for Bloomingdale's stores and .com in home textiles, where she managed the sales, marketing, and financial planning for bedding and bath. Casey also has experience in the cosmetics industry as a Planner of Women's Fragrances for Bloomingdale's, where she analyzed and managed item productivity by location in order to maximize inventory turnover. Casey holds a B.S. in Communication (Summa Cum Laude) from Cornell University. In her spare time, Casey enjoys mentoring and is currently editing a book on Community Networks.
Ruth Lin is pursuing a dual-major in Finance and Strategic Management at the Wharton School, where she is a Pratt Fellowship recipient. Prior to Wharton, Ruth gained extensive strategic and leadership experience in the technology industry at companies such as Oracle and NICE (NSDQ: NICE), in addition to Israel’s FBI and a technological family startup. Ruth started her engineering studies at the age of 16, and earned her degree in Electricity and Electric Engineering and Computer Science from the Tel Aviv University. Ruth enjoys cycling, running, scuba diving, snow-boarding and scotch, as well as spending quality time with her husband, a Wharton grad himself.
Chris Miller is a member of the Wharton MBA Class of 2010 an is majoring in Entrepreneurial Management and Marketing & Operations. In addition to his role as a Marketing Director for the Tech Conference, Chris has been actively involved as a research consultant in social media for the Wharton Interactive Media Initiative, as an MBACM Mock Interviewer, and as the Director of Technology for the 2009 Wharton Business Plan Competition. During the summer, Chris led the formation and development of a new e-commerce division at Olly. Prior to Wharton, Chris worked in Information Technology & Services at British Petroleum managing real-time support of a commodities trade floor, systems integration, and website development. Chris founded Advanced Web Development, a web design and Internet marketing firm. Chris holds a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Utah.
